The evolving activities and movement of the event dictate the permanent urban landscape. The metamorphosis of the site will be revealed through each layer. Memories of the event will be preserved through mark making as a way of scarring the site.
The site has been filled in over time, and the traces of where the activities that unfolded during the event are left as a permanent mark on the grounds. Toward the back where the hole previously existed, rests a change in the terrain to commemorate the discovery, in the public plaza.
How to keep the site activated, and keep luring the public? Through a grid of sensors embedded in the ground, people’s movement as they cross the landscape, is tracked and projected onto the nearby large LED screen. The paths that they take across the sensors is translated into colored designs that are ephemeral.
